Earlier this year, when Mike shared these videos, I enthusiastically printed out the accompanying workbook and binge watched them over a weekend. Little did I know how transformative these would be. That workbook, filled with my thoughts and my notes from exercises in the videos, turned into my very own self-help book, not something written by somebody else. I kept referring to it as I went through the 12 week transformation program. Recognizing blockers from the past, having an action plan ahead of time to anticipate and address them, having written vision and mission statements as I worked towards a goal, were invaluable tools in my transformation journey. I know I will keep rewatching them and rewriting my self help book as time progresses. Thanks for creating and sharing this incredible resource with me, Mike!

I'm beyond thrilled to share that I completed my very first half marathon! It's been a journey filled with challenges, especially with knee and ankle injuries and minimal training, but I pushed through. A huge shoutout to the amazing Outsiders Bootcamp community! After 9+ years of training with The Outsiders Bootcamp, I gained the stamina and confidence needed to tackle this incredible feat. I can't thank you enough Mike for the invaluable tips and ongoing support from our Facebook page and class discussions. Using techniques like glute engagement really helped me manage the pain and keep moving forward. The encouragement and achievements of my fellow Outsiders inspired me every step of the way and looking forward to achieve more. Together, we proved that with determination and support, anything is possible! ā¤

I recently wrapped up my Camino Portuguese adventureāover 165 miles and more than 10,000 feet of climbs and descents in just two weeks! It was an unforgettable journey, and I have to give a massive shoutout to Mike Rawski for his awesome class programming and for drilling in the importance of consistency and discipline. Trust me, daily foam and ball rolling became my best friends! And to my incredible Outsiders crew, your cheers on Facebook and WhatsApp kept me going when the trail got tough. Hello Outsider Family,āØ
I joined outsider gym a little over a year ago and didnāt expect that Iāll change, or rather Iāll find my old self again. At Outsider I learnt that I can do anything, which is a life altering feeling. I lost 20lbs (and kept it off thru stress, vacations, partying). I made some amazing friends, did memorable hikes, learned to manage stress better, and being a better version of myself. Today, I moved to Texas (I know... California is the best, and I hope I am back soon). You are all lucky to have Mike and each other. Outsider was a big part of California for me. Iāll miss my 6am gang. Shout out to Mike Rawski for creating this amazing place and being an awesome trainer, friend, therapist and sometimes army general.

Hi Friends, I would like to share some pics from mission peak hike that I did today and finished strong mentally as well as Physically.
Thanks so much Mike Rawski for your well organized training program which helped me to gain strength, endurance and helping me find better version of myself.
A big shout out to the outsider community for motivation and encouragement.
Little story:
10 years back when I was new to Bay Area, I have made couple of failed attempts to hike mission peak, couldn't complete the hike as I got drained physically and gave up! Always had a dream to take a picture at that pole.
Now with Outsiders camp this dream has come true.
And today was the day!!

Enjoyed wonderful hikes in Yosemite region for 3 days over 25 miles with fellow OBers Shobana and Sumi and Sumi's husband Senthil! Highlight was the high altitude "Clouds rest" hike 13.5 miles at 8000 to 10000 feet. Such a beautiful view of halfdome from the top and a cool narrow rocky path to reach the top. Hikes to Wapoma falls (hetch hetchy reservoir) and to Devil's postpile / Rainbow falls are good ones on other 2 days. A nice nature trail to see Tufas at Mono Lake on the way back. Hectic but thoroughly enjoyed including draft beers, pizzas, jazz concert at mammoth lake
Thank You Mike for all OB training and hikes that we go through which really helped us do this, especially on a challenging 101 degrees the first day

I just completed the Golden Gate Half Marathon. If you haven't run this course it is one of the most spectacular courses I have ever run. But it is very hilly.
I had run this in 2021 too and today I did better by almost 4 minutes.
As you know, I joined The Outsiders Bootcamp recently (thanks to Nidhi Shah for introducing me). When I joined I asked Mike Rawski if I can still run the half. He asked me to focus on MMC and I only ran a 9 miler in addition to a couple of 10k's.
Today, I could tell all the work we put in for core and lower body paid dividends. I felt quite strong going uphill. I almost ran the first couple fully. Thanks to Mike for putting together an amazing program. I feel lucky to be part of this group.

Thankful to be able to do yet another wonderful hike last week - Grand Canyon - North Kaibab to Bright Angels - 25 something miles and 5000 feet. Started at 5:30 AM and finished at 5. It was supposes to rain all day but as luck would have it, it only rained a bit and rest of the day was cloudy and not too hot. I realized that the training I have been doing here is not only for body - it's also training for mental resilience and for hike this long, this was so important! Next goal R3!! Thank you Mike Rawski and fellow bootcampers for all the ideas and inspiration :)

Shout out to Mike Rawski and The Outsiders Bootcamp! Thanks to the training with the Bootcamp, I was able to sign up for Tour Du Mont Blanc hike with only few weeks notice and finished 93 miles and 27,000 feet without any injuries and was able to keep up with the group of very experienced hikers who had done Everest Base Camp and Machu Picchu and many more. For me this was first multi day hike.
Just to put this in perspective ā about two years ago Mike had to literally push me up The Mount Umumhum ā I had given up half way through š. Took me few days to recover!
This was once in a lifetime experience with beautiful landscape, magical night sky, fun group of people. I am happy to share the itinerary is anyone is interested in doing it.

OBers seem to be on a roll this year, showcasing remarkable discipline and determination while checking off bucket-list adventures. I feel fortunate to be part of such an inspiring group.
After starting the year with the Patagonia W-Trek, I concluded it with a memorable four-day hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. While photos donāt fully capture the experience, hopefully my smile reflects the joy it brought me š.
Highlights
Cusco, Alpacas, Incas ā I am in love, with all of them, in no particular order š
Day 2, considered the toughest day of the hike, involved 12+ hours of hiking at high altitudes, and was immensely satisfying.
On Day 4, I faced mild food poisoning, but managed to complete the hike. In that photo with a llama, I was running on empty!
My only regret? Not staying awake on the train back to Cusco. Thankfully, I felt better the next day and visited Rainbow Mountain to cap off my trip.
And finally ā the icing on the cake (wall), putting your sticker up on the OB wall!
Mike Rawski, thank you for curating these unbelievable training sessions, that magically seem to prepare us for lifeās happy trails. I am so grateful that I get to do this for fun!

Shout out to Gita Kulashekar for conquering her first half marathon and making her way to the wall!!
Over the years, I faced initial doubts and self-imposed barriers, thinking long distance running was reserved for anyone but me. Stepping into an unfamiliar, uncomfortable zone, at the persuasion of some friends, I embarked on my first half marathon journey in May of this year, after I overcame some physical challenges. Mikeās daily cues taught me to better integrate breathing techniques, helped me understand my bodyās mechanics, all the while learning to improve appropriate muscle recruitment. Incorporating these lessons during my training, turned my skepticism into determination to finish what I started.
On the day of the HM event, I walked at a steady pace, stopping only for pictures. It never crossed my mind to give up or dwell on how much distance I had left. The exhilaration I felt after crossing the finish line was raw and powerful.
With this first half marathon behind me, my goal for next year is to improve my pace, and continue walking and training with this incredible community that surrounds me. Thank you HM buddies! Thank you Mike!!
Congratulations Gita! You ROCK!!!

Himalaya is the world's highest mountain range and Nepal hosts a third of the Himalayas. Trekking to Everest Base Camp was a long held dream of mine, which I finally got to do this past week.
...
This trip started off with some unforseen challenges - epic rain for 3 straight days that wrecked havoc in Nepal and had us grounded in Kathmandu, unsure if the hike would even happen. Nepal saw a record 57 inches of snowfall in those 3 days. We started our hike with a lot of uncertainty and a take it day by day mindset.
On a personal level, this hike was my test to see if I could handle higher elevations. I was pretty nervous going in. Sometimes the mental and emotional challenges, more than the physical ones, are harder to deal with. I read this line somewhere - 'The doubts, the self defeating inner voices - are the unwanted hitchhikers in our backpack. So true. I had to push past that. Physically I tried to be prepared with a combination of doing long hikes and being consistent at OB workouts this year.
Despite all the uncertainty and physical challenges of doing this hike, I thoroughly enjoyed each day. Pics and videos don't do justice to the majesty and beauty of the Himalayas! It just takes your breath away!
"The reasons I climb, and the climbs I do, are about more than distance or altitude, they are about breaking barriers within myself."

Mt. Whitney one day hike. 22 miles. 14,505 ft elevation and tallest in contiguous US. What a day! Summitted Whitney on Sept 3rd and it was one of the hardest one day hikes I have ever done. An endurance ball buster. I anticipated, worried and stressed about how hard itās going to be, but even then was surprised at how much it took out of me! No altitude sickness thankfully. We had hiked near Mammoth Lakes the day before. I had also summitted Half Dome three weeks prior, which was a bucket list hike for me, and thankfully also became a training hike for Whitney. Attaching pics of both hikes.
Being more consistent in my workouts at OB this year has helped build up my strength and endurance to even attempt these hikes. Thank you Mike.
Whitney had amazing views all along the way. The sunrise views especially were breathtaking. I kept singing (only in my head, didnāt have the energy to actually sing) Nina Simoneās āitās a new dawn, itās a new dayā as I was admiring that view. :)

āFeeling grateful for walking the Inca Trail to Machupicchu ...
To disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle and the opportunity to be one with nature, trekking on historic stone paths through diverse ecosystems, lush cloud forests and high mountain passes.
When rain hit the trail and the air started thinning at 3000m, having spent my first night in a tent bundled with hand and toe warmers in my sleeping bag, I found peace and calm when I surrendered to the power of nature.
Thank you Mike Rawski! You prepare us not just for physical training but so much more.
Thank you also to all the Outsiders for sharing their journeys and experiences all along.ā

Yesterday, I did a thing: transversing 50 kilometers over 5,000 feet of up ā°ļø (who put a mountain in the middle of a race, btw??).
It was brutal and brilliant.
I once heard ā every ultramarathon is a lesson in overcoming; generally during, but sometimes before or even after a race. This was certainly true for me on Sunday. In fact, this race almost didnāt start for me, because of various reasons, including under training this season (my last race was 14 mo ago!), and a NASTY run-in with covid a month ago, which knocked me down hard for weeks. I donāt know if my legs could hold up (or gluteus, hip flexors, calves, feet, back, etc, etc)
So, the evening before, when I found myself, studying at the course, map, the elevation, logistics details, I said my goal for the race is to ānot stopā, until Iām physically removed from the course. After > 8 hours of ups and downs (literally AND figuratively!!), I finished.
My legs held up, I felt excellent. And now, 24 hours later, I donāt have a trace of ārunning an ultramarathonā in my body, no aches, pains, or fatigue ā and that is a testament to you, Mike ā thank you for helping me finish strong!!
Someone asked me to take a ābefore & afterā pic of myself to see the ādamageā. I donāt have pics of the course, but I have that to share here. š

Approximately 70 miles over 7 days, with elevation gains and losses ranging from 3,000 to nearly 5,000 feet on some days.
What was previously unexplored territory for me was hiking for 7 consecutive days. On paper, it seemed like I would have plenty of downtime before setting out each morning. However, hiking in the heat all day, navigating ascents and descents on challenging terrains, squeezing in a stroll through town (since it would be my only time there), preparing for the next day, and then trying to catch some sleep with a sore bodyāall of this added to the challenge.
The experience of past runs, hikes (both medium and high altitude), and continued workouts reminded me time and again that our bodies are capable of far more than we often give them credit for. What gave me the most confidence to keep going was my daily workout training. The routines put together by Mike Rawski are so solid that I was prepared enough to avoid any significant aches or pains. Moreover, I learned through this experience that the training allows me to be mindful enough to recognize the signs if my body wasnāt functioning at its best, allowing me to preemptively avoid any injuries.
The guides, Matthieu and Johannes, made the hikes much more enjoyable. They shared tons of information, anecdotes from their other guided tours and trips, and stories about their families. They understood the varied skill levels of our group and ensured that each person hiked at a comfortable pace. They also prepared the best lunches and made sure we savored local dishes, cheeses, and wines.
The sights and the experience are impossible to fully capture in photos. By the 5th day, I mostly just soaked it all in. Thatās what nature does to youāthe sheer magnitude and expanse are incredibly humbling.
The lodgings had a charm of their ownāchalets or inns tucked away in small to mid-sized valley towns. Some highlights included beautiful views from windows or balconies, communal dining with soups served from cauldrons, meeting other hikers, Michelin-star quality food served at the beautiful Hotel Alpina, and even a swim in a small rooftop pool while soaking in the views of the mountain range.
With time on hand in Chamonix the day after the last hike, I was able to ride the highest cable car in France, the Aiguille du Midi, which took me to an elevation of about 12,600 feet. In the afternoon, the weather was perfect for tandem paragliding, allowing me to enjoy the views using a different āmode of transport.ā
Overall, the experience was like a culinary feastāa basket of ingredients including vast mountains, lush greenery, colorful wildflowers, blue skies, crisp breezes, and charming valley townsāall perfectly blended together to create a delectable dish of wondrous sights, served in three ways: on foot (TMB hiking tour), by gondola (Aiguille du Midi), and by air (paragliding).
Sincere thanks, Mike.

āSummer of 2024 will be etched in my memory as the year in which I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu aka lost city of Incas.
It starts at km 82 near Cusco in Peru and after a 26 mile / 4 day hike dotted by lush rainforests, magnificent mountains, the winding Urubamba river flowing along the trail, it culminates at Machu Picchu ā a UNESCO heritage site.
Views are spectacular. The highest point of the hike is Dead Womanās Pass at approximately 14,000 feet elevation.
Grit, determination, positive mental attitude are absolutely essential to complete the hike.
Second day of our hike was marked by torrential downpour (unexpected rains per locals) that left us soaked to the bones and with wet jackets and gloves, but we carried on with the last vestiges of determination and made it.
I asked Mike how to train for it and he responded with ājust show up.ā My training at OB, especially the step jumps, the lunges prepared me well for the notorious stone steps at the trail.
Pictures donāt do justice to the magnificent views ..ā
That looks absolutely AMAZING!
Well done Pri š

Today I ran Mount Diablo 50k with 8700 ft elevation in under 9 hrs 30 mins, an hour and some change faster than I did a couple years ago.
Thank you Mike! I'm able to conquer higher mountains ā your carefully planned routines at the studio and the hikes have made me go faster and go further. And the thought-provoking books at the book club have helped me conquer the mountains in my mind. Total mind and body shift!

Hi Mike, just had to share with you as a lot of credit is due to you. I had my yearly blood test done and this may be the first time in 30 years where my blood work is all parameters are in normal.
My A1C dropped from 5.7 to 5.2, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL all improved, Triglycerides dropped from 372 to 95.
I have been taking medicines for blood pressure, cholesterol, and pre-diabetes, and doctor mentioned we can discuss on cutting back medicine doses in my physical in June.
Thank you so much.

What do we get out of OB?
A trainer who prepares a workout plan fit for the entire group, pushes each individual and surprises them with their new capabilities, guides them mentally how to focus and overcome the hurdled path to the goal, gives insane punishments (which are good workouts too) and screams to wake us up and become alert the next hour at the gym, ahhh and those motivational speeches... We would hate when Mike switches the music to those motivational speeches. We even have asked him āare we school children? Why these boring screams now?ā
What we take out of our OB gym are the fundamentals of mobility, nutrition and also those motivations that we need elsewhere in our lives. All those screams become words of advice that help us get through the toughest period and maybe finish a run, do the jumps, climb a mountain.
One such time while in Sigiria, Sri Lanka while I was frozen with fear of heights, I needed the screams. Needed the voice telling me ā
donāt make this fear define you ā rise above the fear ā focus on the goal ā feel the pain, it is good ā
These words came to me, far away from my OB gym, in the other part of the world. I climbed up the slippery steps of the Rock Fort of Sigiriya without any problem. Then fear set in looking at the steps going down. You see the ground far away between the black metal slippery bars. With trembling legs I climbed down the open steps with all the motivational words echoing constantly. No pain no gain, let this fear not define me. My body was shaking for half an hour even after we reached the car. But I am glad I overcame the fear and completed the climb up the rock and back.Ā

It was a trip to rim-ember!
We hiked from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the North Rim, covering a distance of almost 27 miles, in one day. With last minute snagging of North Rim Lodge reservations, we didnāt have any time to train.
We knew it was going to be challenging but until you are in the mountains (or canyon in this case), you donāt really know what to expect.
Some big learnings from this hike:
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The weather at the top of canyon was 85°F but in the canyon, it was over 100°F. We didnāt take the heat very seriously and it could have been bad. Luckily we got out OK.Ā
- PRADNYA GOIL AND DEEPALI SATYAN

- Wear loose-fitting clothes. Our tight leggings were not a smart choice.
- We should have started earlier. We started at 4 am but 2 am would have been a better choice, we would have avoided the hot sun.
- Our backpacks were heavy. Going up 14 miles with heavy backpacks in the heat was brutal. We could have easily lightened our packs by a few lbs.
Glad we were able to check this hike off our bucket list. Our previous two attempts were canceled, third time was indeed the charm!

I can now do push-ups like a pro (this wasnāt even part of my goals). There are things I never paid attention to like balance, flexibility, mental strength and now I am improving holistically. What I love about Outsider the most (other than Mike of course) is that all my changes are lifestyle changes. I am not doing anything I cannot keep up with. As a side effect my entire family is getting healthier and stronger as well.
Now my goals are higher, and I know Iāll get there!
My strength is better, my confidence is better, I look better, my health is better, my balance is better, my endurance is better, I am setting a great example for my kids and the list goes on. I joined Outsiders with very nominal expectations. I only wanted to have a workout routine, feel a bit healthier, and gain some strength. In less than 6 months I feel like a completely new person!
My āeverythingā is better... I achieved my basic goals in no time.
Additionally, I have lost 20 lbs and almost 6% body fat, and still going.

She has done this in spite of covid, holidays, post-covid socializing, family obligations, work and leisure travel, and all other excuses one can give.

āI think, nutrition coaching was very effective for me and I hope you start it in future for other people to benefit from š

She also shared the habits she built and lessons she learned:
