Getting Assessed - The Foundation

All of our goals are different, and getting started can be hard. You may want to lose excess body fat, tone up and develop a beach body, build strong lean muscle, decrease mile times, have unlimited energy, or lower blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. As you know, this list goes on!

And for many of us, the accomplishment of our goals may seem so far away that we resist even getting started.

I want you to know, that as your coach, I understand. And you can rest assured that we’ve already laid the groundwork to ensure your success. For each of your goals. Mentally, emotionally, and physically, but more on that in a moment.

As a new member, the most important thing for us it to help you achieve your goals. The best way for this to happen is for us to learn and understand your goals, your unique challenges, and to ensure our program is the best fit for you.

In our best effort to do that, before getting started, we’ll arrange a time to complete your initial assessment.

Your assessment includes a conversation to learn about you, your goals, your challenges, what you’re looking for in a program, and a full fitness assessment with a functional movement screen.

In just a couple of moments, your simple, 7 movement, functional movement screen can show you which movements you do exceptionally well, and which movements you need to develop to achieve your goals faster and safer than ever before!

These are the same assessments used by top physical therapists, chiropractors, professional sports teams, the US military, police departments, and fire departments.

And as you can imagine, moving well and being pain free without the use of additional medications is of HUGE importance to them.

Once the assessment is completed, we can then share the best plan of action for your body and get you started on your program.

Getting Started - The First Step

We have a saying, “Just get through the door and let us take care of the rest.”

Now if you’re like most other people, you have tried and stopped some sort of diet or exercise plan in the past, and believe it or not, that’s totally normal.

What happens to most people is they become temporarily motivated when they are unhappy with themselves and stop as soon as something gets in the way or feel a little bit better.

This can be something as simple as our clothes not fitting the same way, we don’t have the same level of energy, we want better performance, or we want to look great for an event, to something much deeper. For instance, we no longer feel confident, we don’t feel attractive, or we feel like others are judging us.

How do I know I’ll Stick to the Program?

As I mentioned earlier, there are three areas that ultimately impact our ability to achieve our goals long term.

They are the mental, emotional, and physical elements of training.

Most of us know what we should do, but we just don’t do it. WHY?

Well it’s like planting an apple tree and expecting oranges to grow. If we have the wrong seeds below the surface, we’ll never get the fruit we want. So instead of changing the seeds, we either get mad at the fruit or cut down the tree all together and stop.

You see, most people just think about the physical side of training. They have an expectation, start to do some exercise, and get frustrated when the results they want haven’t happened as soon as they have started.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Most of us have never been taught how to achieve our fitness goals correctly and for the long term. Both mentally and physically.

We need to plant better seeds.
